At First Steps, we aim to work in partnership with families to help each child fulfil their full potential.

We provide loving care and wide educational experiences for children from 3 months to 5 years in First Steps.

We understand that one of the most important things parents consider when choosing a nursery is the team of people that will be caring for their child. We have carefully put together our own First Step’s family, making sure we are all patient, positive, have recognised qualifications, up to date knowledge and skills. Above all we’re filled with love for children.

All our First Steps’ team members are required to hold (or be working towards) NVQ 3 qualification in Child Development as a minimum requirement. All staff hold current paediatric first aid certificates which is updated every two years. We also make sure each team member is trained in safeguarding and food handling, with each accreditation updated when needed.

The management team is led by Ian Jones, supported by Tina Woodward who is our Early Years professional, Ian and Tina are always available, together we perform a daily hands-on management style within First Steps and Steps Kids club, to ensure that our family values-led approach is consistently maintained.
