Welcome to the November edition of our First Steps newsletter and hasn’t time flown by this year; it’ll be Christmas before we know it.
Since our last newsletter we’ve been very busy in the nursery. We held our hugely popular and seriously spooky Halloween party which featured dancing, party games and lots of fun! We loved seeing all of the children dressed up in their scary costumes (and one or two of the staff joined in too).
We’ve also welcomed some creepy crawly visitors through our collaboration with ZooLab, the UK’s number one ethical, hands-on animal encounters. This month the visit was very on theme for Halloween with a slithery corn snake, a giant African centipede and a Chilean Rose Tarantula, who the children loved meeting and learning about.
It’s been a wet and windy start to winter but that hasn’t put us off enjoying the great outdoors. Even in the colder months, we still try to take the children outside regularly for some fresh air, so please ensure your child has wellies and suitable waterproof clothing to be kept at nursery.
In a bid to promote healthy minds and bodies from a young age, Helen from Flexifrogs has continued with her weekly yoga sessions – all of which are based on a fun story adventure and the children have been really engaged. As well as yoga, the weekly French class continue to offer children enriching experiences as well as all the benefits that come from learning a language at a young age.
