As we welcome in March and experience hopefully warmer, brighter and more spring-like days, we have lots of things planned to make the month whizz by.

We carry on our theme of shapes and ourselves and we look forward to exploring more about the human body and the shapes we see and use in everyday life.

On Tuesday 5th it’s Pancake Day – so we look forward to having a fluffy and filling pudding with the children on its special day.

Then on Thursday 7th March, it is World Book Day. We know that this day is celebrated heavily in primary schools across the nation. We will be enjoying this week with lots of stories and reading, so bring a book to share with us, and on Friday if your child wants to dress up they can but this is optional.

Then towards the middle of the month, the nation will be celebrating Comic Relief – and First Steps will be joining in too on Friday 15th March. We would love for any children to come dressed in red and bring their red noses in if they have them. We will be collecting for the cause with a little bucket in the nursery entrance (please don’t feel obliged) and if your child knows any jokes – we look forward to laughing away.

We also have Dental Playbox coming in again to talk to the children all about teeth, dental hygiene and visiting the dentist on Thursday 7th March. The children and team alike always find these sessions lots of fun as well as being informative and teaching the children best practice when it comes to their own dental health.

Finally, we don’t want to ruin any surprises, but as usual, the children will be working on some items to take home to celebrate a certain day right at the end of the month 31st.
